Basis of our Belief
First Baptist believes that its purpose is the
advancement of the kingdom of Jesus Christ. The
church encourages the worship of God, the preaching
of the Gospel, Christian fellowship, Christian
education, personal stewardship, missionary activity,
hospitality, and community service.
The church accepts the supreme authority
of the Bible and its sufficiency as our only rule of
doctrine and practice.
Membership
Members are received at First Baptist Church by profession of faith in Jesus Christ as their Savior and Lord and baptism by immersion

Purpose Statement
Our purpose is to honor God by reaching people with the Good News of Jesus Christ and leading them to become His committed followers. In an effort to fulfill this purpose, we use the following covenant:
Covenant
Forasmuch as we willingly endeavor to live worthy of our calling in Jesus Christ, we do in all
humility and singleness of purpose solemnly covenant with God and with one another as one Body in Christ.
We therefore affirm: the confession faith in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord, and baptism upon that confession in the name of the
Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, to be an essential witness to the Gospel, the Church and our vital union with Him in His resurrected life.
We acknowledge our responsibility: to diligently work for the advancement of the Kingdom of God through evangelism, caring, worship,
Christian Education, stewardship, prayer and service; to keep the unity of the Faith by honestly seeking the mind of Christ for guidance;
to maintain a reverence in life through personal Bible devotions and to be alert to our Christian behavior in the world.
We also endeavor:
To bear one another's burdens in love;
To trust each other sincerely;
To pray for each other in weakness;
To be slow to take offense; and
To be forgiving in spirit as we are forgiven.We moreover covenant: when circumstances require that we leave this area we will as
soon as possible unite with another Christian Church where we can fulfill the spirit of this covenant and the principles of God's Word.
