CHILDREN
AND YOUTH
Ministry
Team Leader: Carol Pepin
"Train a child in the way he should
go and when he is old he will not turn from it."
Proverbs 22:6
Here
at First Baptist Church of Painesville we believe children and youth
are our future. Exposure to Christian morals in tandem with teaching
how God moves with us and in us throughout our daily lives along with a
love and concern for others is present in all our children and youth
programs.
Sunday School
is from 9 to 10 am. There are classes for toddlers, kindergarten,
primary, upper elementary and teens (7th-12th grade).
Wednesday
Night Kid's Club meets at
the church on Wednesday nights at 6:30 to 7:30pm September thru May.
There are two groups. Three to five year olds and six to twelve year
olds. They enjoy a lesson, craft and occasionally special projects.

Club fun shown below.
Faith
Flyers is our youth group
for 7th-12th grade and meets Sunday evenings at 6pm at the church. In
addition to lessons other opportunities for spiritual growth occurs.
For example: attendance at ministry-based youth conferences, weekends
at Camp Koinonia, church overnights and attending Christian concerts
just to name a few.

Movie" party at the church.
Junior Church
occurs every Sunday. Kindergarten thru fifth grade are dismissed after
the Childrens Story in the worship service. One Sunday is Library
Sunday, another is Children's Choir practice and the other Sundays are
used for a short lesson, craft and snack.
Our Vacation Bible School this
year will be a Mega Sports Camp held in conjunction with Painesville Assembly of
God at their church, 10949 Johnnycake Ridge Road. The theme is The Great
Comeback. It will be held August
9th, 10th, 11th and 12th from 5:30 to 8:30pm
for grades 1st through 6th. Children will be able to choose soccer,
baseball,
basketball or cheerleading as their area of focus for the week.
There are special events
occurring throughout the year. For example this past December there was a
Children's Christmas Party held on a Saturday afternoon. This was the
second year for it and it was well attended. Already the children want
it again in 2010!
Easter
2010, April 4th: after our church-sponsored breakfast and before the
worship service there will be an Easter Egg Hunt for the children.
There also will be games, prizes, live bunnies and pictures with the
Easter Bunny.
Camp Koinonia is a Christian camp located on
Cork-Cold Springs Road in Geneva, Ohio. There are many camping
experiences tailored for primary thru twelfth grade. Special interest
camps such as Paintball Camp and Lifeguard Camp are also available. For
